Introduction
We have just finished the first half of the year according to the Gregorian calendar. Six months have passed since you made new resolutions for this year. You look back with a smile or with a frown depending on how you have performed. Due to the pressures of life at the moment, some people have already forgotten what they resolved to do this year 2008.
2008 was declared as a year of new beginnings among many other things. For most people so far, it has been tough going this year. 2008 began very shakily and traumatically for various nations. The first half of 2008 recorded more catastrophic events all over the world than most other years; sudden deaths, extreme and destructive weather patterns, near melt-down of economic patterns, earthquakes, civil strife and epidemics. At a more personal level, collapse of relationships, death of friends and family, breakdown of families, intense financial pressure, breakdown of health, loss of jobs among other things. The world food and fuel prices are at their all time highest. These indeed have been difficult times.
Yet the Lord spoke in so many forums that it would be a year of new beginnings. Many received promises and prophetic utterances that declared greatness. There was excitement and high expectation for the coming year. However, six months later, it seems like a pipe-dream. All has fallen to nothing? What went wrong? Were all these prophecies wrong? Many are wondering why they had such high hopes of going in one positive direction yet they went the opposite direction. Is this really a year of new beginnings? Many look at the list of precious promises that 2008 held, and halfway through they year they can only ask themselves “Didn’t God say….?”
These and more questions run in the mind as we reflect the first half of the year gone by, and face the coming six months. The following teachings reveal to you that God is about doing something new in 2008 and He is not finished with you yet. Whether it gets worse before it gets better, the following spiritual gems will help you see through God’s eyes, His workings through seemingly delayed or unfulfilled promises.
Prophetic Offspring
When God wants to bring forth that which will deliver people from any bondage or wants to bring about extra ordinary revival, or prophetic anointing in any area of life – be it leadership, governance, politics, education, media and arts, science and technology, economics, He prepares a prophetic womb through which such people or such equipping will come forth. Most of the time, that womb is barren spiritually or physically as the case may be. God needs a cleaned out environment from which to start a new thing. He will have nothing take the glory for such a work. So the circumstances around that womb will have to cause it to be empty. God will then allow the person carrying that womb to go into a season of travail in prayer because He is waiting to release something that is out of the ordinary and there is a level of intercession and travail that must come with such a release.
Physically it happened with Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, Manoah’s wife, Elizabeth the mother of John the Baptist. Hannah the mother of Samuel, whose pattern we shall examine in this discourse, had a dramatic experience with her desire for a child. Spiritually it happened with Joseph, Moses, David and many other characters.
Maybe you too have been praying, fasting and hoping but God is waiting for the appointed time to bring forth that which will be called the holy one of God from your spiritual or physical womb. He will not allow you to escape this time. You must go through the valley with Him, before you climb up to the mountain top. You must bring forth His purposes.
Why? This generation is very crucial to the purposes of God’s kingdom on earth as in heaven. We live in a profoundly prophetic generation which will usher in some things that God wants to do in the nations. In this year 2008, a year of new beginnings and new birth, you are about to bring forth prophetically. That is one reason why you have experienced such hard labour.
Delay is not denial. Recognize that as you wait upon the Lord and walk through each trial, your attitude during this hard season will determine your altitude i.e. how high you will rise or how low you will sink. Let your attitude cause you to reach for the Most High God. Keep the faith and lay hold of what He is speaking to you in this season.
Read: 1 Sam 1-2
The gist of the first chapter is that Elkanah had two wives Hannah and Peninah. Every year they visited Shiloh to worship the Lord there. Whenever the time came for Elkanah to present an offering he would give two portions for his wife Peninah and all her children, but to Hannah he gave a double portion for he loved her.
Hannah had a great need in her life. That need caused her bitterness of spirit. She was taunted by her rival for her barrenness. This increased her anguish. Hannah thought “Me too, if I had my own child; see how my rival has all these children and my husband is giving them a portion each. O I wish I had just one.” That was her only desire and biggest prayer request. Nothing else satisfied. But that was not enough.
Hannah’s Attitude
The story in 1 Samuel 1-2 is a study into many valuable lessons. However for this discourse we shall graze through the story and pick a few pertinent points. Why is it that every year Hannah would go to Shiloh and come back the same or even worse off? Her pain was not directed or channelled toward a definite goal. She had no real reason why she wanted a child except for the fact that it was good for a married woman to produce offspring for her husband. She compared herself with her co-wife Peninah and maybe to stop her rival’s taunts she wanted to prove herself a “complete woman”. She had her husband’s complete affection but that little thorn in her flesh (barrenness) spoiled the paradise she would have been enjoying; had she just one child.
Maybe she wanted a child because being a mother held special status. All these and any other thoughts were simply selfish.
Her pain had not driven her to focus on a bigger, more specific picture that would help God’s purposes. However, there was one day when something changed in her life. Suddenly she got focussed. She saw beyond her own need and saw God’s need.
These are difficult times. Sometimes as a Christian you may face all manner of challenges in life. You have been praying, yet you have not seen yourself getting better. Your challenges persist. Instead of going away joyful, you see others enjoying and their lives improving but you wonder, “God why am I in this state or even degenerating?”
That particular year, Hannah’s attitude and thoughts shifted. She was no longer going to complain, grumble and murmur and let the things that she saw or heard affect her negatively. She would let them drive her to God. That is what emotions are for. Whatever emotions you experience, whether anger, frustration, sadness, joy, jealousy, envy, hatred, bitterness – they are to drive you to God so that He can exchange those hard feelings with His own and direct you to where He wants you to go.
Hannah’s pain drove her into the tabernacle. Do you notice that every year they went to Shiloh it is not mentioned that she set herself apart to earnestly seek God at the tabernacle? The tabernacle had been there all the time but finally, this time she allowed her emotions to take her to God. She bore her heart out to God. This time she did not stop at “if only You could give me a child.” She qualified her request, asked for a male child and said “I will give that child back to You to serve You all the days of his life.” That child would not stop being hers but He was a child, set apart for God’s kingdom purposes on earth. She answered appropriately, the question that God is also asking you today “What do you need this thing for?”
What made her even ask for a male child and offer him back to God? In chapter 2 Eli had two sons Hophni and Phinehas. The Bible says they were grieving God with their ways. In the days of Eli, the word of God was scarce in the land. God was about to bring in a new dispensation, and He was looking for a womb. He wanted to usher in a new season. In her musings, and probably in looking at the challenges at Shiloh, Hannah decided to become a problem solver. Hannah received insight to the situation by inspiration of God, and knew that God would need a new priesthood. Remember that problem solvers never lack provision. When you decide to be part of the solution to the challenges you see around you, God will NEVER allow you to lack in any way.
Does God Benefit From Your Need?
What is the need in your life? If more than one, what are they? Will your need solve problems around you? What is God’s own portion in that need? Why should God answer your need? How will it further His kingdom? How will it bring solutions to the challenges at hand? Remember that everything God allows you to have or experience is so that His Kingdom purposes can be fulfilled. Do you think that prophetic word was given to you so that you too can say, “I prayed and God answered in this area and am happy and comfortable?” Are you asking for a car so that when it comes you can also pick other people or use it for service of God when required? If that is truly the purpose, it will come more quickly.
What is the need in your life? Marriage? Why do you want to get married? Why do you want that career? What is God’s need? How does God benefit from what you need from Him? Is it health? Longer life? Why should God keep you alive? Do you have cause to stand to tell God that there was a need from Him to keep you alive?
What has been confronting you as a person or family so that you have been coming dutifully to church and other fellowships? Is it because it is the done thing? When you come what is your attitude? Is it just so just you can receive the word and go away? Do you only listen to your favourite preacher and ignore the others? Have you taken hold of God? Hannah prayed such that the priest did not even comprehend what she was doing. It was not in their culture. It was not in the Torah. That kind of thing this woman was doing had never happened before. He was puzzled. She must be drunk.
A note in passing; people in error always see first, the wrong in others.
Focus on God
She was focussed on her goal. Nothing around her mattered. What people said did not matter any more. The taunts, the jeers, the double portion from her husband; nothing good or bad mattered at all. When Eli rebuked her, Hannah did not take offence. She just stated her case. Many of us would be discouraged and even move on to another church. Sometimes people whom you would expect to know better will not empathize with the sorrow or pain you are experiencing. It is all part and parcel of God’s purpose to keep your focus on Him. When you find a soft landing in another human being, sometimes you may lose your quest for God and turn to that human arm to lean on (Pr 3:5-6). Your positive attitude at any given point in time when you go through bitterness of soul is very important.
God is not only interested in giving us what we need and require. He is as interested in the process we go through to get that thing. The whole process of pregnancy is crucial to the baby’s future growth. How the expectant mother carries herself during the pregnancy will affect the new born baby. The more pleasantly she takes in every experience, the better it will be for the child in future days. Her focus is on bringing forth a healthy baby not on the insults of people around that she has become too fat too slow or clumsy, not even the excruciating labour pains will deter her or divert her focus. Every experience we go through has a reason; it is to make us better.
Keep Your Vows
When Hannah had weaned Samuel she brought him faithfully to the house of God and presented him to the man of God. She kept her word. Many times when you have stood before the Lord crying out for some things in your life to happen, you were very rush to make vows before Him. You promise that you will do this and that if God answers your prayer. You rattle on in prayer and then do not take time to account for what you are uttering so that you are careful to fulfil your vows. Be careful what you say. When God sees that His purpose can be fulfilled in what you are saying, He is faithful to give you that which you have requested. Keep your part of the bargain. Hannah did that and God gave her 5 more children
“Guard your steps when you go to the house of God; to draw near to listen is better than the sacrifice offered by fools… Never be rash with your mouth, nor let your heart be quick to utter a word before God, for God is in heaven, and you upon earth; therefore let your words be few…. When you make a vow to God, do not delay fulfilling it; for he has no pleasure in fools. Fulfill what you vow. It is better that you should not vow than that you should vow and not fulfill it. Do not let your mouth lead you into sin, and do not say before the messenger that it was a mistake; why should God be angry at your words, and destroy the work of your hands? With many dreams come vanities and a multitude of words; but fear God.” (Ec 5:1-7 NRSV)
Think about your life. Why do you come to church? Why do you pray? Why do you read the Bible? Why do you listen to or read Christian books? Do you have a need? How have you placed it before God? Have you asked God His need? What is the attitude of your heart? Are you flustered and frustrated? Have you stopped praying because the answer has been a long time coming? What vows had you made in the past? Did you keep any of them? Ask the Holy Spirit to bring to remembrance some of those vows you had made rashly. Ask Him to exchange your negative heart attitude “Examine yourselves [as to] whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. (2Co 13:5a)
Delay is part of the answer
As you continue to wait upon God in this second half of 2008, there is another important lesson you ought to learn. Go down to the Egyptian royal dungeon and learn from Joseph. You have learned that the process is as important as the fulfilment of God’s purposes in your life.
You realize it has been tough going this year. You had made requests before God but there is still no answer. Understand that delay in getting the answer is much part of getting the answer. It is through that delay that God will allow you to be tried and tested and lead you in a way that you will see Him and know Him in away He will not need to teach you at any other time.
Delay time is precious
There is no other time in your existence that you will develop character from the lessons you learn. When the children of Israel were going through the desert, there were lessons that they had to learn in order for them to be able to stand firm and really possess the promised land. All of them failed to learn from their trials. God even allowed them a further 40 years in the wilderness; a whole generation, but they still did not learn their lessons. So they fell in the desert. God had prophesied but it was conditional upon them to receive the prophesies and align themselves with God[1] A lot was lost to the next generation because of their fore fathers’ failure to learn from their delay time.
Joseph had received profound prophecies from God. Between the time the prophecies were given and the manifestation, was a period of 13 years. His attitude during that delay time, the character formation, would determine how he would perform when God finally released him into statesmanship. Had he been bitter and angry he would have derailed God’s purposes for an entire nation (Gen 50:20).
Delay Purges You.
If you are being delayed, God is training you and moulding you spiritually, opening your eyes and showing you things about yourself, and also things about Himself. As you submit to His training in the life of faith, when the manifestation comes you are well equipped and prepared to do that which is in His heart. That is how He trained people like Abraham, Moses and Elijah
All these were not great men they were like us. It is God taking them the way of faith, training them for a life of faith – and them being teachable and malleable enough to be shaped according to His pattern that made them great. You too will go through that period. God is training you in the way of faith so you too will become great. By the time He is ready to bring you to fulfilment He is well prepared to equip you and you are able to be effective in that which He has given unto you.
There is the trying of your faith, the disciplines of your faith, the patience of your faith, the courage of your faith and the victory of your faith. All these come along and are part of the training that the Good Lord will take you through to prepare you, to expose your bad attitude and exchange it with His own character. He is not interested in just giving you a son. He wants to give you a son who will serve in the house of God. He does not want to give you a car so you run around with all the women. He gives you a car that will enable you to take people into the un-reached places and use it to further His kingdom. He wants your business to serve His purposes. God has a single aim that His kingdom is established on earth as in heaven. For every prophecy God spoke over your life, your family or nation, He is preparing you so that you can fit in with what He is doing to establish His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.
Your Prophecy Is A Fire
“He sent a man before them––Joseph––[who] was sold as a slave. They hurt his feet with fetters, He was laid in irons. Until the time that his word came to pass, The word of the LORD tested him. The king sent and released him, The ruler of the people let him go free. He made him Lord of his house, And ruler of all his possessions, To bind his princes at his pleasure, And teach his elders wisdom.” (Ps 105:17-22)
The word of God tried Joseph. Are you rebuking devils through your trying period? Have you checked to see if it is the word of God that is trying you? The word of God will try you until the word of the Lord to your heart will come to pass. God has spoken to you and told you what He wants you to do. Until that is fulfilled, the word will try you. It is not men persecuting you, it is not the devil, it is the word of God to your heart. It removes the stones, it digs up the old roots of hatred, bitterness, un-forgiveness, anger, woundedness, ancestral bondage, un-teachableness. As you let the word of God work in your heart, it breaks all the hardness of heart, every idol in your heart, so that you are good ground for God’s purposes to thrive in and bear fruit. The Bible says
“”[Is] not My word like a fire?” says the LORD, “And like a hammer [that] breaks the rock in pieces?” (Jer 23:29)
That prophetic word you are proclaiming every day is like a fire and like a hammer. If your circumstances are contrary, then praise God because it means that His word is working. God wants to find out whether you will believe in Him, stand faithful to Him, be submissive to His moulding, whether all circumstances look opposed to what He has told you. When He releases that prophetic word, He wants to be sure of the ground upon which it fell. That time of delay will purge you of every dross and dirt so that you come forth as gold.
Imagine Joseph was told his brothers and sisters will bow to him. The next minute he is thrown in the pit. And after that he was sold as a slave. He is being dragged along in heavy chains by the Ishmaelite slave traders and what runs in his head is “I am going to have my brothers bow down to me. God told me I will be great. Why is it that now I am going opposite to greatness. Greatness is this way where my brothers are. How will they bow down to me when it seems like I have lost from them forever? God is taking me to the opposite direction.”
Did God say He would restore your marriage? Does it seem to have got worse? Did He say you will be promoted? Were you just fired? Did God say He would bring peace to your nation? Did the situation turn for the worse? Did He say you would get married? Have your courtship just come to an end? God’s word is a fire and like a hammer. Its purging you, breaking away the hardness until His purposes are fulfilled.
Watch Out For The Devil’s Counterfeit
Joseph was taken by Potiphar. Then, glory! Halleluyah! Potiphar’s wife wants to make him great. God did not say Potiphar’s wife would make him great. It is God Himself who would make Joseph great.
So the circumstances are such that here is someone who is ready to lay the whole thing at your feet and you think it must be God’s way. Joseph recognized that this could not be God. His blessings make rich AND ADD NO SORROW (Pr 10:22). If he succumbed to Mrs Potiphar, he would be hiding in the corner doing something in secret and this woman would be giving him a pittance from what she got from her husband. Joseph refused because he believed in what God said. He rejected the offer.
It Can Get Worse Before It Gets Better
Promptly they put him back in prison. The circumstances are contrary. When he thought he had just started rising again, he sunk lower and lower. For the larger part of those 13 years, he was in the dungeon. The Bible say God blessed Joseph and he prospered. Well he was still in prison anyway; prosperity or not. How ironic. Joseph had opportunity to interpret the dreams of the butler and the baker. He asked the butler to put in a good word for him with the pharaoh. The butler could not remember him. He forgot. So here is Joseph, he has got a prophetic word, and yet everything was going contrary to the word what God had said.
That is your situation. God has told you what He wants to do with your life and destiny. Instead of things happening to you, they are happening to other people – to the butlers, and you are still in prison. You have still not got the fulfilment of your prophecy. You are entering July the past 6 months had been full of prayer and anticipation but it just got worse. What will you do?
When you read Genesis 37 then from 39- onward is the account of Joseph’s life. All those times were training times for Joseph in spiritual development, growth, leadership, building a deep spiritual reservoir of wisdom, understanding and revelation knowledge, getting to know God in a way that he could not have known Him any other way whether amongst his brothers or as a lover of Potiphar’s wife. You may like Joseph ask, “This God is He seeing me at all? This word He gave, is it really true? Did God really say this? How come everything happening is rather contrary to what He told me?
Don’t Help God
Will your attitude be one of believing God and saying “Let every man be a liar?” Will you say, “Well I think I have to advise myself. God helps those who help themselves,” so you become like Sarah and help yourself. Today the problem she created is not resolved between Jews and Arabs because Sarah decided to help God have Ishmael. If you help God you will struggle with the problem till you die. It will probably follow your generations as well. So don’t help God. Wait for God. The time He is delaying is specific and deliberate. He knows you, and there are certain things He will do in you and for you before He can get you fulfilled.
Delay Is Deliberate
Some people ask for a car. If God gives it to you, you will kill yourself in three months. He won’t give it to you until you are 30 years, mature and more responsible. For others its marriage, or promotion, or ministry gifts or leadership change. God knows what He is doing. Delay is part of your training. Don’t waste time fretting and grumbling and quarrelling and comparing your self with others. Find out what God wants and use the delay time profitably. The time will come when you no longer can develop character you should have developed during that delay time. There are experiences you will require which you could only learn through the delay time. It is deliberate.
Your Answer Will Come Hastily
In Gen 40;14 we are informed that Joseph was brought hastily out of the dungeon. It is the same way God will turn your tables around. In the twinkling of an eye, within 24 hours God will turn your destiny. From the dungeon, the clean up, the heavy spiritual requirement to interpret a dream before a mighty king, could have taken about 1 hour. In one hour, the destiny of Joseph, from the prisoner to prime minister, from pit to palace; happened. If God has not trained you and equipped you and done in you the things He ought to do during the waiting period you will be a total flop, a disappointment. Therefore God will help you not to disappoint Him by delaying you. Joseph had gone through his lessons. He had remained faithful, he had refused to comprise, he had refused short term options, he had refused to take short corners. He waited for 13 years. Then HASTILY he was brought out of dungeon, shaved, changed his raiment and he was brought before pharaoh. Next, he was appointed ruler over all of Egypt and everyone was to bow the knee to him.
That evening assume that pharaoh had dinner for Joseph and every important noble man was invited. Potiphar and wife would be there. Suddenly they would announce “His Excellency Joseph has arrived. Bow the knee to him. Mrs Potiphar would bow low. Joseph would be able to look in her face and she would not be able to look back. Supposing he took the short cut and went into Potiphar’s bed? What are you asking God for? Why are you grumbling instead of believing God and submitting to His training? Are you tempted to take the short cut?
No More Training
When God changes your circumstances there will be no time for more training. You should be equipped you should be ready to move forward and be like Joseph. You should be providing the wisdom, the understanding, the vision the revelation, the leadership and counsel because the fear of God has been in you throughout. Joseph did not tell the Pharaoh, “Wait I want to take some 7 days of fasting and prayer so I can get back to you.” “I have to go to learn leadership of a whole nation.” He had prepared long before. Looking at the very hectic and demanding schedule he was being launched into, where would there be time to pray and fast or have a retreat? Did he have time to go to school of leadership for refresher course?
Were you fired from that job? Are you having idle time in your hands now because the business has not taken off? Do you realize this is deliberate? Train yourself, take this time to read the Bible, fast, pray, seek God earnestly. Use your delay time to build yourself up and learn so that when the time comes HASTILY you will be ready and equipped. There will be no more training when you get that new job, when you get into that marriage, when the business starts picking up, when you get that baby, when you are appointed into that position.
Take Delay Time Seriously
From this month to the end of this year, you are no longer going to fret, you are no longer going to complain. You will take your delay time seriously. It is a time of training and development. When He brings you forth you shall be like gold. Refuse to compromise with the world, take shortcuts and bow your knee to Satan. When God glorifies His name in you, you shall look Satan in the eye and say to him “You bow your knees!”
Repent before God. You have been fretting. You are believing the circumstances of the world, the fickleness of the world is what you have been after. Instead of standing strong, instead of refusing to be moved and saying, “God promised me and He will not fail me, it does not matter the delay. He will bring it to pass. God show me how to use this time profitably so I can be ready for the work He has for me.”
Repent for being so short-sighted and your murmurings and grumblings and refusing to see God’s faithfulness and ability and wisdom and the fact that He loves you and is dealing with you appropriately. Repent for looking at the circumstances of other people and comparing yourself with them. You have been foolish. Acknowledge that God’s delay is part of your answer, it is training and testing time for development. Ask Him to cause you to take your testing and trials and training seriously because when you are ready you will come out suddenly so there will be no more time for further training. Keep your eyes on Him and not man. He will perfect that which He said to you and bring you to an expected end. Ask Him to help you to be a partaker of the work that brings His kingdom on earth as in heaven.
Finish well
God is addressing your attitude as you go through the trials of 2008. God knows the questions in your heart. He has drawn you to Hannah and Joseph. Now you know that God has a purpose but there is a process you must go through a testing and trying period. The Bible says refining of our faith bring us out like gold. God is looking for vessels of gold, people of strength who will carry His purpose. Most of all He wants those who will reach the finishing line. He is not interested in fallouts. It is not enough to run the race but you must finish the race.
Do Not Worry
In Matthew 6:25-33 Jesus speaks to His disciples about what their focus should be – to seek first His kingdom and its righteousness. However, three times, He points out that they should not worry. When Jesus says “therefore” after every statement, recognize that He is addressing a pre-requisite or hindrance to accomplishing whatever He is commanding you to do. If you are to seek God’s kingdom, according to Jesus Christ, worry should be avoided. Why? Worry is one of the biggest hindrances to accomplishing God’s purposes for us.
We normally do not worry about our spiritual condition. We hardly ever worry about our salvation, or where in the five fold ministry we fall or which of the inspirational gifts of the Holy Spirit we should seek to fan to flame. We normally worry about the temporal physical things like, food, clothing, shelter, security, our relationships with other people etc.
Many of us have been in place of worry and anxiety. The meaning of the word “worry” – from the Greek definition “Merimnau” (from root “Meriso”) means to divide into parts. This suggests destruction; Preoccupation with things; when all your attention, energy, thinking and meditation goes into the circumstances surrounding you. This causes anxiety, stress and pressure.
Worry Is Sin
Many of us respond to the unknown with worry. Jesus is speaking and three times He basically tells His disciples “Therefore… it is a sin to worry.” Why?
If you are a child of God, Psalm 139 says our days were written in his book before even one of them came into being. God who said, that He has good plans for you, (Jer 29:11) knows what should happen to you every single moment of your existence when you align yourself to His will. Your life will be on sure ground. However when you are outside of His will, then you are in an exposed place, open to any attack and manipulation from the kingdom of darkness.
Can you by your own power bring into being God’s purpose in your life. Can you by your effort and striving bring yourself to the finishing line? It is by His power. He who called you, is He not able? Is He not willing? So who are you to depend on? Him and to wait. When you worry you become fragmented. It damages faith. You need singleness of focus. The food, the clothes, the shelter, the things we need from day to day; when your focus is on these things, you lose THE FOCUS which is your purpose in God – seek first His kingdom. If the enemy can cause you to lose focus you will not finish well.
I want the Lord to bring me to the finishing line. I want my life to have purpose to count for all eternity. I want the Lord to bring me to the place He has promised me. It means I must not lose focus. I will allow nothing to divide my focus; not things nor other people.
Its In His Time
Do not compare yourself with another. Moses had to be processed for 40 years. Joseph had to be processed for 13 years. David had to be processed for 17 years. You don’t know how long the Lord has purposed for you to be processed. On this side of eternity, yours is to have faith in God and hold on to Him and take it one day at a time because in the fullness of time He will bring you to that place of fulfilment. It was a matter of minutes and Joseph was brought from the prison to the palace. Beloved, there is an enduring to endure, there is a patience you must have. Patiently wait and endure. When the Lord is finished with you He will display you. You cannot display yourself. When you try you will short circuit. You will not get to the finishing line. Allow Him to bring you to the finishing line.
You make errors because of pressure. You have allowed your strength to diminish, because you chose to worry. You chose to be anxious you became weak in your spirit man. Thank God for His wisdom and foresight, for revelation. Ask Him for strength to run the remaining race with patience and endure to the finish. Repent for the things you have allowed to divide in your heart and be unstable in faith – a double minded man can receive nothing from God. Ask for renewal of faith and strength and power in your spirit man. You need strength. In your weakness His strength is made perfect. It is not unmanly to confess weakness before the Lord. Ask God for singleness of sight Ask Him to help you go higher in Him as you change your attitude and finish the process of ushering in this new season in your life, your family, your community, church nation and continent.
Prayer
Thank you Jesus for strength and power. Thank You that You are at work in my circumstance, in the circumstance of my family, my place of work, my church and my nation. You called me to a mission. You have equipped me and you are faithful to give me every thing I need to get to the finishing line. Thank You for Your faithfulness. Renew my vision, give me accuracy in discernment, I ask for singleness of sight, for strategies to recognize destruction so I will not give myself to them. Give me long-sightedness so I can see the end and keep my eyes on the finishing line. You who began a good work in me, are faithful to bring it to a perfect completion to the praise and glory of your name. In Jesus name. Amen
