December derived its name from the Latin word “Decem” meaning ten (10).  Most of the month remains in Kislev until 1st of Tevet 5775 which begins at sundown 23rd  December 2014. It ends on 20th January 2015. It will be the fourth (4th) and tenth (10th) month of the Jewish civil and sacred calendars respectively. This remains the twelfth (12th) and final month of the year 2014 according to the Gregorian calendar.

This month is a hibernating season when there is little productivity. While the south goes for summer and shuts down for the festive season, the north also goes into hibernation at the gates of the winter season.

The sun enters the gates of the winter season during the winter solstice which will occur on 21st December 2014 @23.03UTC. That will make for the longest night and the shortest daylight hours in the northern hemisphere and the in the southern hemisphere it will be the shortest night and the longest daylight hours of the year.

The 8 day Chanukah festival of  lights commences on the 24th of Kislev i.e. 16 December and ends on 2nd of Tevet i.e. 24th December.

The so-called festive season is upon many people all over the world. This comes with the ending of the Gregorian calendar, and the Christmas/New Year season.

PRAYING THRU THE MONTH

It is the final month of 2014 and what a year it has been! Take a moment to thank the LORD that you are at the exit gate of another season and whether you recognized it or not, He has been your Dwelling place and your fellow Sojourner through life’s journey so far. You made it this far through every high and stormy gale, every mountain and valley, every dark place and every triumphant moment. Ps 90.1

Proclaim Isa 55:12-13 You are here about to go out of this gate of time and you will finish this year well!

Thank the LORD for every opportunity you had to learn a lesson. Thank Him that even the areas where you missed the lessons of life, He will give you an opportunity to revise and re-learn them. Psa 90.12

Declare Jesus Christ as LORD over every moment of this  month. Command the lunar and solar gates of the month to be lifted up unto the LORD of Hosts and let Him enter and take perfect control of the month so that each moment will be a kairos moment to accomplish destiny purposes for you and kingdom citizens in the territory. Ps 24:7-10.
