PRAYING THROUGH THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY 2016
February was named after the Latin word “Februum” meaning purification. It was so named after the purification ritual “Februa” dedicated to deity Juno, held on February 15th in the old Roman calendar.
The Biblical calendar observes a 13 month leap year every two or three years. Since the Biblical Civil year 5776 is a leap year, it will have 13 months because of the intercalated 12th and 13th months Adar 1 and Adar II. From 10th February to 10th March marks Adar I the sixth (6th) month following the Biblical civil calendar and the twelfth (12th) of the Biblical Sacred calendar.
On leap years Purim is celebrated a month later on the 13th month or Adar II. However, the little Purim (Purim Katan) celebrated on the 12th month will occur on 14th-15th Adar 5776 (23-24 February 2016).February is the second (2nd) month according to the Gregorian calendar. February is the shortest month of the Gregorian year with 28 1⁄4 days. After every 4 years, the quarter days add up to one full day creating a 29th day in each leap year. Therefore 2016 is a leap year too.
This is a month of many deeply pagan events and it would do well to know their significance, in order to pray through those days because each day is the LORD’s day and not dedicated to any other deity or unGODly event.
